1st grade and up

Discover the bliss of ballet here at Adult Beginner/ IShine bright in the limelight of Joy here at the Performance Team of Joy of Dance. In this group, you get to learn the value of teamwork while pursuing your passion in movement. This is an avenue that provides an opportunity for dancers to perform, bringing joy to the Barrington community and beyond. From local charity events to an annual dance competition, you’ll have the chance to dazzle audiences and grow as a performer. If you’re a lost soul, looking for a community to embrace your skills and talent, Joy of Dance is the right haven for you.

Dress Code:
Let comfort lead the way in any color leotard, pink tights, and soft, pink ballet shoes. Leggings and tank tops are also perfect for our littlest dancers. Boys can rock a white or black t-shirt, black sweatpants, and black ballet shoes.

Just a Tip:
Eyes here, Parents! Feel free to join in! This is your chance to groove and assist your kid in every move. You can also watch your child discover the JOY of Dance. Remember, it’s all about fun and connection!

2nd Grade and up

Unleash your inner hip hop superstar with our Hip Hop Troupe. In this troupe, you can sharpen your moves, embrace hip hop culture and move to the sound of streets. Like our Performance Team, the Hip Hop Troupe participates in various community events and a spring competition, offering ample opportunities to groove and impress. If you’re looking for a crew where you can be yourself and pursue your passion of movement as well, get ready to pop and lock here at Joy of Dance.

Dress Code:
Any color of leotard, pink tights, pink canvas ballet shoes, and shiny black tap shoes are all okay. Boys are invited to dance in comfort with a white or black t-shirt, black sweatpants, and their own ballet and tap shoes.

Just a Tip:
Dancers who want to join the Tiny Stars Program, no matter if they are potty trained or not, are allowed to register. Every star can shine bright here at JOY of Dance.

Alegria Dance Company is our adult performance team. This team is in addition to technique classes that provides the opportunity to perform in community performances and attend competitions. Groove and move to the center of the stage with the dream team here at Joy of Dance.
